The train from Dakar, Senegal to Bamako, Mali, 1995.
I caught this in Tambacounda, after riding my bike the entire length of The Gambia. It was tempting to keep on riding; the rolling countryside there was well-suited to it. However, I wanted to get to Bamako in time for Christmas, so I could be sure of calling family at home.
I made it to Bamako on time, but didn't manage to connect by phone, so in the end I really shouldn't have bothered.
